Online Ads? Exit stage left!

 Adblock Plus is becoming quite the popular NKOTB with more and more firefox users adding the application to prevent websites from downloading ads.

AdSweep works with Google’s Chrome.

Could this be the curtain call for traditional online advertising? Hmmmm.

So knowing that Google has a vested interest in preserving their income stream from ads online, what does this mean for the big G? What sort of an impact will this have for them or how will they need to evolve to keep their momentum going?

Interesting! Are we witnessing a shift that rivals the industrial revolution? I recall someone saying it’s ridiculoulsy easy to predict the future… it’s harder than hell to predict what is happening this very moment.

If small is the new big. If one way advertising is being pushed to the curb. If the people have the power. <and I absolutely believe this all to be true.> Then what can we expect 12 and 18mths from now? 5 yrs from now? Will we see a new more refined socialistic society? Will we be competing on a level playing field?

What can Mr. Marketer do? What should he do? I think my mantra has evolved from “Get your moments of truth dead on” to ‘Work at creating a Marketer’s Utopia – a place where your audience promotes you, your brand, your service while providing you real time info that allos you to continuously course correct!”

So my final question. How do you create brand fanatics?
