Then commit yourself to teaching it to others. I’m serious. I give four different social workshops;

1. How Social enables the job search.

2. Why Social. How Social.

3. The power behind your social foot print. (typically for younger Gen Y)

4. Social Opportunities. Create your own job.

If we are in an evolution (and we are) then your social media workshop materials from 3mths ago are out of date. You see where I am going with this – non? My point is that if you are a Social Media type who (in)directly earns a living from social media then you know you have to stay on top of all things Social.

Studying, monitoring and analyzing something with an objective in mind enables you to be far more effective in your information gathering. If that objective is to be ableto teach it to an audience then by default you become far more disciplined in your studies.

So… find organizations, associations or professional groups that need to know what’s in your head. Set a date and go to work. After all, this space is about sharing and creating value for others… and at the end of the day, that helps define you as a thought leader. In my books, that’s a win-win.
